Mitch McConnell fractures shoulder in fall at Kentucky home, spokesman says

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell fractured his shoulder after tripping and falling at his Kentucky home, a spokesman instructed NBC Information in a statement.

“This morning, Leader McConnell tripped at house on his out of doors patio and suffered a fractured shoulder. He has been treated, released, and is operating from home in Louisville," David Popp, the Republican lawmaker's spokesman, mentioned in a press release.

Popp said that McConnell called the Republican senators of Texas and Ohio in regards to the mass shootings that took place in their states this weekend.

“This afternoon he contacted Senators John Cornyn and Rob Portman to specific his private sympathies for the folk of El Paso and Dayton and discuss the mindless tragedies of this weekend," he said.
